Abstract: IBM Blockchain (built on Hyperledger Fabric) is currently being used to solved several exciting challenges across diverse use cases in enterprises. In this talk we are going to look at the evolution of the blockchain service, key components of this service, how these are leveraged, and finally we will see a couple of blockchain use cases up close.

Short Bio: While a graduate student at the Physics department of NC State, Joseph Washington started at IBM as an intern working with some of best thinkers addressing the biggest challenges facing global industries. During his first full time position there, he tackled Semiconductor transistor scaling beyond Moore's law in 2011. After that, he worked migrating and supporting workloads on IBM cloud's Docker / Kubernetes service in 2015. Then, there was using Watson to quickly respond to Sev1 events as well as transforming legacy business processes within the CIO in 2017. Currently, he is the technical owner for the Contingent Labor App running on IBM Blockchain where he manages and architects the technical needs of IBM's Blockchain app and Blockchain network. His team works to scale blockchain services to many different countries and thousands of new users.
