Biography
Dr. Healey holds joint appointments as Professor in the Department of Computer Science and the Goodnight Distinguished Professor of Analytics in the Institute for Advanced Analytics, both located at North Carolina State University. Dr. Healey’s research focuses on visualization, data analytics, text analytics, sentiment analysis, machine learning, cognitive psychology, graphics, and social media analytics. He has graduated 15 Ph.D. and 26 MS students, and received $6M in funding from agencies including NSF, DoD, NSA, ARO, and various industrial sources. Dr. Healey has published 100 peer-reviewed articles. He is an IEEE and ACM Senior Member, and a member of NC State’s Academy of Outstanding Teachers, the top teaching honour at the university.
