Wright Named 2007-2008 Wilkinson Graduate Research Ethics Fellow

David's dissertation focus is on how software designers reason about the decisions they make as they develop software systems. He believes designers can employ thinking and reasoning patterns to consistently find reliable solutions to complex problems. Identifying and documenting these patterns would be a valuable resource for software developers and an important addition to the computer science curriculum.
The Walter H. Wilkinson Graduate Research Ethics Fellowship is funded through an endowment established by NC State alumnus Walter H. Wilkinson. It is awarded to one doctoral student at NC State each year. As the Wilkinson Fellow, David will be creating a catalogue of ethics activities, courses, and organizations on the NC State University campus as well as in the greater Triangle area. He will also develop a comprehensive list of contacts as well as potential speakers for the Responsible Conduct of Research program sponsored by the Graduate School.
