Four Receive 2011 IBM Faculty Awards
The NC State Department of Computer Science is very proud to announce that four members of its faculty have been selected to receive 2011 IBM Faculty Awards totaling over $95,000.
Winners of these highly competitive and selective awards include:
Dr. Rada Chirkova – associate professor of computer science, with an award of $20,000
Dr. Xiaohui (Helen) Gu - assistant professor of computer science, with an award of $15,000
Dr. Christopher Healey - associate professor of computer science, with an award of $30,000
Dr. Mladen Vouk - professor of computer science and department head, with an award of $30,000
Other winners include Drs. Greg Byrd ($40,000), Paul Franzon ($30,000), Yannis Viniotis ($30,000), and Eric Wiebe ($16,500).
IBM Faculty Awards recognize outstanding faculty achievement and are renewable annually. But in keeping with the competitive spirit of the program, renewal nominations must be submitted and supported by an IBM technical sponsor and evaluated in the same process and criteria as the first award.
