Department Launches New Facebook Page

In an attempt to serve a much broader community of interest, the NC State Department of Computer Science has launched a new Facebook page (link), of the "like" variety, that will greatly expand the visibility of events, news, photos, videos, and happenings within the department.

According to Ken Tate, director of development & external relations, the old Facebook page was created to serve an organization, limiting access to alumni, employees, and current students.  "The new page is open to anyone, and should esecially be popular with our corporate partners, middle and high school teachers and counselors, and prospective students."  He adds, "This gives us another very effective communications channel to add to our other social media efforts."

The department also enjoys a large and growing following on LinkedIn and Twitter.
